Two monologues written for Advent (Sweet Dreams) and Epiphany (Bitter Nightmares) that feature the character of Joseph. They may be used independently or performed as a unit.
Sweet Dreams is set in a lawyer's office where Joseph is seeking legal advice on how to "quietly call off their engagement" (Matthew 1:19).
Bitter Nightmares is set at an Egyptian border crossing where Joseph and his family are seeking refuge from Herod's wrath (Matthew 2:14). Written with the present war on Gaza in mind.
