Canada Post

All retail items ship via Canada Post through their Letterpost, Flat Rate or Post Parcel services, depending on size and weight.  If you would prefer another shipping option (e.g., courier, at an increased cost), please contact us

 

Shipping Status

A confirmation email, with the Canada Post tracking number (for all packages other than Letterpost), will be sent to you when the item is shipped.  You may also check the status of your order by accessing your Order History from your CommonWord account.

Please note that some shipping times may be affected for various reasons.  Please check Canada Post's mail delivery interruptions page for updated information.

 

Packaging

We purposely reuse used packaging materials as much as possible to reduce cost and waste.

 

Out of Stock Items

We will contact you with an estimated shipment date if you place a special order or request an item(s) that is out of stock.  We will work to get the item(s) to you as quickly as possible.

 

Shipping Cost

We try our best to keep the price of shipping to a minimum.  Often it is to your advantage to order in bulk, whenever possible.

Orders that combine different sizes of items or include large quantities are marked "manual shipping" so that we can provide an accurate shipping price before you submit payment.  

 

In Canada:
  • Orders under 500 grams and less than a 2 cm thickness are shipped via Canada Post Letterpost.  (Larger orders (between 500 g and 1 kg) may be split into two Letterpost packages to save shipping costs.)
  • Orders between 1 - 5 kg are shipped via Canada Post Flat Rate shipping.
  • Orders over 5 kg or that exceed the Flat Rate dimensions are shipped via Canada Post Parcel shipping.

 

In USA:
  • Orders under 20 grams are shipped via Canada Post Letterpost.
  • Orders between 20 grams - 2 kg are shipped via Canada Post Tracked Packet shipping.
  • Orders over 2 kg are shipped via Canada Post USA Parcel shipping.

 

Outside Canada and the US:
  • We ship via Canada Post, which has Small Packet Ground, Small Packet Air, and Tracked Packet options. Please contact us directly to place an order, so we can provide the current shipping options and their costs.

 

Delivery Time

  • Within Winnipeg - 2-3 business days
  • Within Manitoba - 3-4 business days
  • Within Canada - 4-5 business days

Please allow a bit longer for Letterpost mail.

Borrowed Items Ship Free!

Borrowed items ship free via Canada Post Library Rate service - both ways - anywhere in Canada!

  • A prepaid return-label is included in each shipped package.  We are not able to provide a prepaid return-label for items that are picked up.
  • Once shipped, the package’s tracking number will be emailed to you.

 

Manage the timing of your loan shipments

Combine or separate your orders from your shopping cart.  Borrow an item(s) today, and another item(s) at a later date by adjusting the loan periods.  Or, reversely, combine multiple orders into one shipment by adjusting the loan periods to the latest common date.

Mixed orders ship separately

Your shopping cart differentiates between retail and loan items, and between CommonWord and Mennonite Heritage Archives titles. We cannot combine mixed orders.  They will ship separately.  Your credit card will be billed for each individual order that incurs a cost.

Returns

 

General Retail Returns

Most items can be returned for a full refund up to 3 weeks after the purchase date (or, in the case of Christmas gifts, within 3 weeks after Jan 1).

The purchase will be refunded after we have received the item(s).  Refund method must match the original purchase method of payment. 

  • Online orders and in-person returns will be refunded directly.  
  • We will contact you to arrange the refund if item(s) were shipped and paid offline (by phone or in-store).

Original shipping costs will not be refunded.  The customer also assumes the full shipping cost of an item’s return.  If the returned item is exchanged for a new item (e.g. apparel sizes), the customer assumes the new shipping costs.

Items originally shipped can be exchanged or returned in-store.

All returns must have the original receipt or gift receipt.  Item(s) must be in new condition. 

Discounted items are a final sale and cannot be returned.
